THE BEGANING OF
MARKABI TEAM

The Markabi twins (Zaid & Yazan) began their journey by learning Visual Basic 6 programming language while they were in ninth grade (2006).
They worked on creating open-source games using 3DTrueVision library, which specializes in 3D rendering.
Additionally, they developed several programs and shared them, along with their source codes, on the Planet-Source-Code platform.
Markabi also established a voluntary library of Visual Basic projects aimed at helping new programming students and organized competitions for members to showcase their projects and code. The Markabi team collaborated with a Portuguese individual named José Mota, who assisted them with financial matters due to the economic sanctions and restrictions imposed on Syria at the time. After approximately three years of voluntary work in programming, Markabi contacted by Dr. Neil Henry Halpen, a British-Dutch physicist and a former consultant at Philips. Markabi worked with Neil to develop a massive software project that took over four years to complete. The project consisted of a set of programs functioning together as a 3D workspace designed for studying scientific, medical, or engineering topics. It visualized information and presented it in a 3D format.

Later, Markabi team shifted their focus to developing websites, with social media platforms being their starting point. They created the first platform that paid registered members in cash and cryptocurrencies for viewing and liking social media pages. This platform, named “LikesASAP” established in 2011 and it gained significant traction within a few months and was eventually sold to a Canadian-Russian investor named Dimitry. Collaboration continued for years afterward, with Markabi team committed to further developing the LikesASAP platform and integrating new social media platforms as they emerged, such as Facebook and Instagram. However, the team faced a lawsuit from Facebook and was banned from using the platform for two years after negotiating with Facebook’s legal representative. This led to the eventual shutdown of the LikesASAP platform after six years of successful operation.

As the popularity of social media platforms and the focus on likes diminished, cryptocurrencies began to rise in prominence. And Markabi team turned their attention to developing cryptocurrency-related platforms, the most notable being “DonaldCoin” This platform gained widespread user adoptiondue to its distinctive and calm design and its Bitcoin transactions at a time when Bitcoin-based platforms were scarce in 2016. The DonaldCoin platform processed payments exceeding 200 Bitcoins to its registered members. With Bitcoin’s price soaring to $20,000 and transaction fees increasing significantly, Markabi team developed a blockchain similar to Bitcoin but with modifications to eliminate transaction fees. This project led to the creation of “ZeroChain” the first fully integrated platform that met users’ needs by providing APIs for easy application development on the blockchain. It also offered a decentralized wallet and the ability to buy and sell the network’s tokens directly with other users without intermediaries.
